Union - 1935 Defin Issue - 1/2d Grey and Green with Perf 13,5x14 from "Gutter Margin" Sheets - Gutter Block of 8 - Unused in sealed packet and with some Blind Perforations
In the 1933-48 Hyphenated Definitive Issue all of the 1/2d (and 1d) Postage Stamps have the same Perforation of 15x14 since August 1936. However, certain sheets printed on 25th September, 1935 were perforated 13,5x14. As in the previous issue the stamps were printed in a continuous sheet and were subsequently cut into "coil" rolls of 500 and 1200. The total printing of this issue was not used up for rolls and the balance were cut up into "flat sheets" of 240 and issued for general distribution. These sheets had no top nor bottom margins. There were, however, side margins and a central vertical gutter margin. This issue became known as the "Gutter Margin" Sheets.
This Gutter Block forms part of one of these sheets and contains "Blind" Perforations.
Contains Original Gum and Never Hinged but with early signs of gum discolouration.
